Patricia “Patti” Anne McVicar

1949-2026

The passing of Patricia “Patti” Anne McVicar occurred unexpectedly at her home in L’Etang NB on September 24, 2026. Born in St. George NB on September 19, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice “Bea” (MacVicar) McVicar.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Patti is survived by her children: Jeanne Monks (Edmund Doiron) of St. George NB, Geoff Monks of L’Etang NB, and Krista (Ted) Trost of Hudson NH; grandchildren: Jolene (Corey) Blanchard of Pennfield NB, Justin Doiron of St. George NB, Jade Doiron (Patrick Barry) of Caithness NB, Victoria Trost of Hudson NH, and Thomas Trost of Hudson NH; her great-grandchildren: Alyssa Blanchard, Ethan Barry, Dawson Barry, Noah Barry, and Eli Barry; sisters: Geri Johnston of Utopia NB, Debbie (Peter) Cormier of Blacks Harbour NB, Mary McVicar of L’Etang NB, Jackie (Russell) McVicar-Ferguson of St. George NB, and Bessie  McVicar of L’Etang NB; and many nieces, nephews, and countless cousins.

In addition to her parents, Patti was predeceased by one daughter in infancy, Louise; and siblings: David McVicar, Frederick McVicar, Hugh “Hughie” McVicar, and Cindy McVicar.

Prior to retirement, Patti worked for various employers primarily in the aquaculture industry. With a smile that would light up any room, Patti was always the first to volunteer to help someone in need. She loved knitting and crocheting and attended many local markets selling her creations. Strong in her faith, Patti was a devoted longtime member of the St. George Catholic Church, helping the church in many ways, including delivering the eucharist and speaking in church. She also was a founding member of Bea’s Helping Hands, a significant fundraiser for the church. Working alongside her sisters and friends to make “floggy dogs” was one of her favourite ways to help.

In her free time, she loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, who she was all so proud of. Patti was a “road runner” and was always up to join her friends and family on any excursion and she had the ability to bring laughter to any situation. Her love and devotion to her family will be sadly missed.
