1925-2026
Margaret “Margie” Helen Lambert (née Graham) was born May 16, 1925, and passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026.
She was predeceased by her husband, Merle Lambert; her parents, John and Norah Graham; her sister, Lorena Lyon; and her brother-in-law, Howard Lyon. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and by her chosen family, the Estabrooks—especially John and Connor, with whom she shared a special bond.
Margie loved animals and always had the company of at least one cat in her home. She spent many hours watching the birds feed outside her kitchen window, with cardinals being her favourite.
During her earlier years, she was always on the move, golfing, playing badminton, and curling regularly. In the 60s, she and Merle welcomed Ken Estabrooks into their home as a boarder when he came to Grand Manan to teach at the school. The trio formed a bond that extended through generations, with Ken’s son’s—John, Jeremy, and Ronnie—becoming close to Margie, followed by John’s son Connor, whom she loved dearly like a grandson. Margie celebrated many Christmases with Ken and his sons, and in later years, with Connor.
Margie was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, never missing a game, and was thrilled to watch them play recently in The World Series. Over the past few years, Margie looked forward to calls from Connor, who faithfully phone her every evening
Margie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Grand Manan Nursing Home for their care in making Margie comfortable in her final years.
