VINTAGE VIDEO: Inside the Border Arena in St. Stephen from 1995

As St. Stephen officially says goodbye to the old Border Arena, many of us no doubt find ourselves reminiscing on the countless hours spent there. Having been a fixture of King Street since the early 1970’s, the building hosted hockey games, skating, concerts, roller-skating, wrestling, amateur boxing, circuses, conventions and countless other events over the years.

One of my own first memories of the building is my father taking me to see a monster truck there sometime back in the mid-1980’s (it wasn’t preforming any stunts, it was just there on display). The Grand March graduation ceremony was also held there for many years. And the year I turned 19, Canadian classic rock legends Trooper played live at the arena for Beer Fest!

Enjoy these old home movies from inside the arena from 1995 and let us know if you see anyone you recognize!
