A Little Yellow Can Mean a Lot

This morning, February 6th begins a little differently.

Before the day fully wakes up, there are already hints of yellow—pulled from closets, wrapped around scarves, pinned to jackets, poured into coffee mugs. Small choices, made with quiet intention. Today is A Day in Yellow.

In the middle of winter, when the days can feel heavy and the nights too long, yellow is a reminder of light. Of warmth. Of hope. Today, wearing yellow is a simple way to say, you matter, especially during Suicide Prevention Month.

This isn’t about having the perfect words or fixing what feels broken. It’s about showing up. It’s about being visible for those who may be struggling silently, and letting them know they’re not alone—without putting them on the spot.

Today is an invitation. To check in with someone. To listen a little longer. To send that message you’ve been meaning to send. To be patient—with others and with yourself.

Yellow stands for the belief that even on the coldest days, the sun still exists behind the clouds. It represents the idea that hard moments can pass, that help is available, and that reaching out is a sign of strength.

So as this day unfolds, let yellow be your signal. Wear it. Share it. Use it as a reason to start a conversation or simply offer kindness.

If this day helps even one person feel seen, supported, or hopeful, then it matters.

February 6th is A Day in Yellow. Let’s carry the light—together. 💛
