For the first time in World Cup history, Canada is through to the Round of 16.
It took until the dying moments of their knockout round clash with South Africa, but a 91st-minute rocket from Stephen Eustaquio, struck from outside the box, delivered a thrilling victory.
Canada controlled much of the match, outshooting South Africa 14–6, but missed chances and costly errors had the game seemingly headed for extra time.
Instead, Eustaquio’s late heroics sealed the result.
Canada will face the winner of Netherlands vs. Morocco on Saturday in Houston.
