A roar will be heard over downtown Moncton on Sunday afternoon, which will force you to look up.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will take to the sky for their 55th anniversary season with an aerobatic performance at Bore Park.
It will be a performance you won’t want to miss because the Snowbirds team will be grounded indefinitely after this season.
The federal government announced in May that the Department of National Defence is retiring the aging CT-114 Tutor jets and will replace them with the CT-157 Siskin II aircraft, which are due to arrive in the 2030’s.
Sunday’s performance will be held between 1 pm and 4:30 pm on Sunday.
“We’re incredibly excited to be in Moncton on June 28 during the Snowbirds’ 55th anniversary season,’’ says Major Maciej Hatta, Snowbird 1, Team Lead.
‘’Each performance is meant to inspire young Canadians by showcasing the skill, professionalism, and teamwork of the Canadian Armed Forces. We hope to spark curiosity, pride, and a sense of possibility in the next generation while sharing a memorable experience with the entire community.”
The 2026 Commanding Officer of the 431 Air Demonstration Squadron is Lieutenant-Colonel Guillaume Paquet. He was born and raised in Saint-Quentin, New Brunswick.
