St. Stephen man arrested, firearm seized

A traffic stop has led to an arrest and the seizure of a firearm and ammunition.

RCMP say a vehicle was pulled over on Highway 3 near Brockway on July 2.

Officers had received reports of an intoxicated man who had left a property after a dispute.

RCMP arrested a 66-year-old St. Stephen man, and during a search of the vehicle, they seized a loaded, unsecured firearm and ammunition.

The man also failed a roadside test.

He was released with a future court date.

Police are reminding the public that if you spot someone driving recklessly or who may be impaired, report it to the police with the vehicle description, license plate and location.
