Police in Saint John arrested 22-year-old Jahvon Diego Lasalle Saturday after he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
Investigators say he was taken into custody without incident shortly after 11 p.m.
Lasalle is currently serving a three-year sentence for possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.
Police say he breached statutory release conditions and failed to attend a court hearing for assault charges and obstructing a peace officer.
He was also living at a Community Correctional Centre in Saint John.
