A late‑night rescue on the East Branch Reservoir brought three young men and a dog safely back to shore after their boat became stranded in heavy fog.
The Musqash fire department received a call at 11:33 p.m. on Wednesday about a boat that had lost power on the water.
The motor failed while the group, ages 18 to 20, was out on the reservoir and unable to return on their own, according to Musqash fire.
Musquash Fire said crews launched a drone and a rescue boat to search the area.
The department added that the drone guided firefighters through the fog so they could reach the stranded vessel and bring everyone back to the boat launch.
Fire officials say the young men had been in contact with rescuers until the battery in their cell phone died.
The RCMP also responded to the call.
Musquash Fire said the rescue ended at about 2:30 a.m., and no injuries were reported.
