1947-2026
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Wayne Douglas Kelson, husband of Grace Cheryl (Gaudett) Kelson of Utopia NB which occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on January 26, 2026. Born in St. Stephen NB on August 13, 1947, he was a son of the late Rupert and Edith (Hatt) Kelson.
A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Grace, he is survived by his children: Tina Chevarie (Ronald) of Riverview NB, Kelly Cole (John) of Turner ME and Scott Kelson (Sophie) of Middle Sackville NS; grandchildren: Joel (Shelby), Kelsey (Mylene), Jordyn (Brody), Colby, Kate and Charlee; great-grandchildren: Avaya, Weston, Axton, Riley, Kayden and Ripley; his siblings: Rupert Jr. (Linda), Jack, Gary (Debbie), Judy (Bob), Nancy (Dick) and Paul (Jackie); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by one sister, Ruby Pelton.
Prior to retirement, Wayne was a well-known and highly respected electrician in the local area. A member of Electricians Union, IBEW Local 502, Wayne truly loved his job and excelled at it. An avid outdoorsman, Wayne loved hunting, fishing and gardening. When able he enjoyed a good game of Golf and watching sports on TV.
The family would like to thank all those who offered any act of kindness during Wayne’s illness. Your love and compassion were greatly appreciated and never went unnoticed. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Eastern Charlotte Extra Mural, especially Kam for all your support.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes there will be no visiting. A memorial service will be held from the St. George Baptist Church on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jason Hooper officiating. In Wayne’s memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer would be greatly appreciated by the family.
