1934-2026

The passing of James “Jimmy” Linden Hawkins, husband of Florence Elizabeth Hawkins, occurred peacefully at their residence in Beaver Harbour NB on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 with his loving and devoted family by his side. Born in Beaver Harbour on June 23, 1934, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lena (Dickson) Hawkins. Living his life on the water, Jimmy had a longtime career as a fisherman.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, besides his loving wife, Florence, Jimmy is survived by his children: Debra (Randy) Harris, Brian (Andrea) Hawkins and Sheila (Rob) Blanchard; grandchildren: Shyanne (Chris) McLaughin, James (Jennifer) Harris, Brandon (Lisa) Hawkins, Jessica (Colten) Ziegler, Shea-Lynn Blanchard and Dastan Blanchard; his great-grandchildren: Savannah Ross, Dawson Ross, Paige Hawkins, Sophie Hawkins, James Harris II, Gabby Spencer and Jack Spencer; one sister, Lila Wright of Sudbury ON; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his brothers: Floyd Hawkins and Malcolm Hawkins; and by one sister: Gladys Stewart.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. The service will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. The interment will be held in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Jimmy’s memory, donations to the Beaver Harbour Venture Group or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
