1947-2025
The unexpected passing of J. Rudy Tucker, husband of Irene (Campbell) Tucker, occurred at his residence on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was born on June 9, 1947 in St. Stephen to the late Burpee and Marjorie (Leavitt) Tucker. Rudy worked as a fire fighter and first responder in Kitimat, BC for over 14 years before deciding to return to L’Etete. He became an Entrepreneur in the Aquaculture Industry, owning and operating businesses until his retirement. Rudy was a selfless and giving person, dedicating countless hours to his community through volunteer work with minor hockey, the local chamber of commerce, and the Harbour authorities of Blacks and Beaver Harbour. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and a past master of the Kitimat Lodge.
An avid golfer, Rudy was a member of the Hollows Golf Course in St. George and the Brunswick Plantation Golf Course in Calabash, NC. He liked to stay busy and embraced a wide range of interests, including hunting, fishing, curling, and keeping up with current affairs—always eager to share what he learned with his family. He found joy in reading, spending time outdoors with his grandchildren, walking the St. George trail, and woodworking in his spare time.
In the winter months, Rudy treasured his time in Calabash, North Carolina, golfing with Irene and enjoying time with many dear friends.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, Rudy is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Irene; daughters: Marilee Tucker of Charlottetown, PE and Tracey Tucker of St. George; son, Murray Tucker (Kelsey) of Pennfield; grandsons: Lach and Kam; siblings: Dianne (Glendon) of Letang, Philip (Nancy) of Letang, Roger (Barb) of St. Stephen, Teddy (Linda) of L’Etete, Bev (Kevin) of Letang, Ricky (Zelda) of L’Etete, brother-in-law Terry Matthews of Musquash, brother-in-law Doug (Peggy) Campbell of Calgary, AB and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Janice Matthews and Allyson (Dave) Haddon.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (506-755-3533) with visitation on Thursday, November 27, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Interment in St. George Rural Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to the Charlotte County Minor Hockey Association, St. George Animal Shelter or a charity of the donor’s choice.
