Holly Chute

1948 – 2026

CHUTE, HOLLY LEE – Passed peacefully at Campobello Lodge on Friday, May 15, 2026. Holly Lee (Brown) Chute was born in Eastport, Maine, and was the daughter of the late Elwin and Irene (Newman) Brown.

Holly was a stylish and fashionable woman who loved participating in beauty pageants. She had a nurturing heart and a deep compassion for others, especially children and families in need. Over the years, she opened both her home and her heart to many, often welcoming children who needed love, stability, and a sense of belonging during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives. To many, she became a second mother.

Holly was always thinking of others and rarely passed up a yard sale or second-hand shop if she thought she might find something useful for someone in need. Whether it was clothing, household items, or small comforts, Holly quietly collected things not for herself, but so she would be prepared whenever someone needed help. Her generosity, compassion, and caring nature touched more lives than she likely ever realized.

Holly is survived by her children: Kevin (Kristin) of Franklin, TN; Jonathan (Jolene) of Campobello, NB; Timothy (Katie) of St. Stephen, NB; and her stepchildren, Amanda Fitzgerald and Melinda (Sean). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Ethan, Josie, Sawyer, Griffin, Zachary, Elizabeth, Hayden, Aiden, Chloe, Delaney, Jaylynn, and JJ; her sister, Bonnie Guptill of Sanford, ME; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

By Holly’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at Old Wilsons Beach Cemetery on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

Online condolences and donations may be made through Humphreys Funeral Home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506-466-3110).
