Gloria Donna Scott

1943-2025

The family of Gloria Donna Scott sadly announces the passing on December 25, 2025.

Born in Canal, NB, Gloria was the only daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Kaglar) VanHorne and the wife of Sanford (Sam) Scott.

Gloria and Standford moved to St. Croix in 1966, where Gloria spent many years working as a flagger. She also worked at the tuna plant. While they stayed at their camp on Deer Island, they enjoyed many activities on the water.

Gloria enjoyed cooking and was famous for her rolls & cookies. Her baking was enjoyed by many, both inside and outside the family. With a house full of brothers, which she helped to raise, she was affectionately known as “the boss”. As one family member put it “she was the glue of the family”.

She will be dearly missed by her siblings Thomas (Carolyn) and Tony. Gloria is also survived by brothers in law Dave Frank (Joyce), Curtis (Cindy), and sisters in law Helen, Peggy (Denis), Jean, Elizabeth (John Guy), Shelley (Mark) as well as many nephews and nieces. A very special thankyou goes out to Kathy Beers and the rest of her caregivers as well as nieces Tina and Nicole.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was predeceased by her brothers Robert, Donald Sherman, Perry and Bruce, in laws David & Edith, brothers in law Marty and Darrylas well as sisters in law Ann and Elinor.

In Gloria’s memory, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Rockland Cemetery in McAdam, NB.>Click here to View Condolences
