David Allen Gaudett

1943-2025

The passing of David Allen Gaudett, loving and devoted husband of the late Lorraine M. (Seeley) Gaudett, formerly of Pennfield NB, occurred peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on October 31, 2025. Born on September 11, 1943, in Blacks Harbour, he was a son of the late Hanford and Olive (Cook) Gaudett.

A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, David is survived by two sons: Stephen (Deanna) Gaudett and Daniel Gaudett both of Blacks Harbour; his grandchildren: Jonathan Wilkins, Alex Wilkins and Desiree Wilkins; great-grandchildren: Lucas Wilkins, Levi Wilkins, Georgia Wilkins, Stevie Wilkins and Charlotte Wilkins; step-great-grandchildren: Aubrey Bent and William Bent; siblings: Alberta Wilkinson of Blacks Harbour, Rose Nickerson (Doug Floyd) of Saint John NB, Cindy Henderson (Dave) of Fredericton NB and Malcolm (Peggy) Gaudett of Pennfield NB; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, David was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Justason.

Prior to retirement, David enjoyed a lifelong career of almost 40 years with Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour. He had a true love and passion for anything outdoors and he especially enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. A committed and dedicated husband and father, David with Lorraine, not only raised their children, but also Lorraine’s siblings after their parents passed away at a young age. He loved spending his days with the yard full of neighbourhood children and had no issues feeding anyone who came through their door. David was a caring and kind soul and would be the first to help any friend, or even a stranger, in need. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and in his retirement was known to cheer them on at all the sport games he could attend. He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 in Blacks Harbour and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A special thank you to the staff of Fundy Nursing Home for their hard work and care shown to David during his stay. Your love and compassion never goes unnoticed.
