Charges against a Black’s Harbour man have now been upgraded to second-degree murder.
RCMP went to a home on Wellington Road in Black’s Harbour for a wellness check on July 17.
When officers entered the residence, they found the body of 45-year-old Patricia Honeywell inside.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on July 17 and first charged with aggravated assault.
He appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on Friday, and those charges were upgraded.
The accused will return to court on August 21.
