Sea Dogs win fourth straight

Make it four in a row for the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Sea Dogs held on for a 4-3 win over Charlottetown on Saturday afternoon.

Saint John outshot the Islanders 13-4 in the first period, but couldn’t solve goaltender Donald Hickey.

Alexis Joseph opened the scoring early in the second, but the Islanders tied things up at 1-1 midway through the period with a goal from Kimani Eccleston.

Zach Morin restored the lead for the home team a short time later, tapping in a rebound off a Dylan Rozzi shot.

Ryan Howard and Alex Donovan added goals to put the Sea Dogs up 4-1 after two periods.

The Islanders tried to mount a comeback in the third.

Hugo Charron scored three minutes in, and Nolan Duskocy made it 4-3 34 seconds later.

Charlottetown pulled their goalie with 36 seconds left in the game, but couldn’t find the equalizer.

Next up for the Sea Dogs is a Thanksgiving matinee against Drummondville.

Game time is Monday at 3 p.m.
