1930-2026

The death of Marion Winnifred Borthwick, wife of the late Keith Borthwick of Letang, NB, occurred at the Fundy Nursing Home, Black’s Harbour on January 7, 2026. Born in Pennfield, on June 5, 1930; she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Urania (Hinds) Dunbar.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister; Marion will be remembered by her daughter; Diane (Fred) McClintock of Hampton, NB, sons: Colin (Leona) Borthwick of St. George, NB; Kevin (Catherine) Borthwick of Oak Bay, NB; Graham (Paula) Borthwick of Canal, NB; grandsons: Craig McGowan, Shane (Stephanie) Borthwick, Jared (Siobhan) Borthwick; several great grandchildren; her sister, Doris Simpson of Canal; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Carl McGowan; brothers, James Dunbar and Julian Dunbar, in infancy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 5th, at 2 PM at the Pennfield Presbyterian Church where she was a dedicated and life-long member, followed by Interment at St. George Rural Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a Reception at The 1912 Inn, 20 Campbell Rd, Breadalbane.

Her family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Fundy Nursing Home for their dedicated and compassionate care while she was a resident.
