The passing of Donna Jeannene (McVicar) Clark, wife of the late Ellison J. Clark Sr., occurred at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on November 20, 2025. Born in Saint John NB on February 3, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Lucy (Patterson) McVicar.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Donna will be lovingly remembered by her children: Crystal March (John), Ellison Clark Jr. (Sandra), Susan Baldwin (John), Cathy Clark and James Clark (Dawn); her grandchildren: Jodi (Dennis), Jared (Krista), Matthew (Cheryl), Courtney, Jacob and Rachel (Richard); great-grandchildren: Callie (Joshua), Cole, Mia, Madelyn, Connor and Kurt; siblings: Roberta Mersereau, Joseph McVicar (Phyllis Cusack), Clara Leslie (Aubrey), Thelma Lomax (Paul) and Lynda Lomax; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was predeceased by brothers Gerald and James and Robert in infancy; sisters: Martha Morecraft and Barbara Black.
As a young girl, Donna enjoyed spending summers in St. Martin’s and spoke of those memories with great fondness. After meeting and marrying Ellison in the Spring of ’58, the two became one and together built a life and family through quiet faith, hard work, and the exploration of many lakes and outdoor adventures. Rarely apart, they were the best of friends, and their love, always evident and shared, lives on for children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, whose hearts are tied to those same lakes and adventures.
Remembered by her family for her love and gifts of knitting, her joy of reading and her singing of a good country song, many special traits made her both Mom and Nanny. From Kool-aid and peanut butter sandwich picnics with her young children, to days at the camp, walks and John Wayne movies with grandchildren, many shared individual memories are cherished by all.
In addition to her family life, Donna was a long-time Girl Guide leader and member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church. She enjoyed many years of employment with the Stedmen’s store in St. George, taking great pride in her work and making lifelong friendships with staff. As Irving Woodlands was always a constant, she had a role in many projects over the years and also enjoyed her time cooking at the Pennfield Camp.
Donna leaves behind sad hearts that will miss and remember her always, but are grateful for the many memories.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Fundy Nursing Home for the amazing care over the past years. Your service and dedication did not go unnoticed.
