Water Cooler Talk (November 10 – 16)

Here’s 5 things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!

1: Did you know that with a length of 129km, the Magaguadavic River is the 6th longest river in our province. The name Magaguadavic is a Maliseet/Passamaquoddy term that is believed to translate into “River of Eels”.

2: Maple trees have the coolest seeds! They’re called Samaras and resemble tiny helicopters. Their winged structures allow them to fly and disperse on the wind, covering distances of up to 100 meters!

3: The modern toothbrush’s ancestor was first spotted in China, where it was used during the Tang dynasty (619–907) and used hog bristles.

4: The debut issue of Rolling Stone Magazine was released this week in 1967.

5: Only 2% of the world’s population have green eyes, making them the rarest eye color.
