Here’s 5 interesting things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!
In the early days of the local logging industry, when logs from dozens of local mills were being moved down local waterways, each company would etch logs with their own unique company marking to help differentiate who owned what. For instance, the Gillmor Mill near Second Falls would mark all their logs with the letter K inside a diamond shape. They would then be sorted at certain key points; one of which was the top of Second Falls. Markings would occasionally be damaged by rocks however, as the logs made their way down river. Logs with unidentifiable ownership would often be sold at auction, with the proceeds often being split between the crews working there.
Until 1752, March was considered the first month of the year in Britain.
Our eyes contain the fastest-contracting muscles in our body, which can react in less than 1/100th of a second.
The highest grossing movie in March of 1986 was “Pretty in Pink”, starring Molly Ringwald and directed by John Hughes.
According to surveys, chicken noodle soup is the most popular soup world-wide.
