Water Cooler Talk (December 1 – 7)

Here’s 5 interesting things you can talk about this week with your family, friends and co-workers!

1: Did you know that Grand Manan Island, although first settled way back in 1784, had been charted on maps as far back as 1558?!

2: Beavers have distinctive orange teeth due to iron in their enamel, which makes their teeth strong enough to chew through wood.

3: In 1865 Charles Dickens, author of “A Christmas Carol”, survived a train accident after a train he was on crossed a viaduct which collapsed and fell into the river below.

4: “Jumanji”, Starring Robin Williams, was released in December 1995. Even with that short window, it would still become the second most profitable movie that year!

5: The smallest bone in the human body is in the inner ear. It’s called a “stapes” and is used to send sound vibrations into your inner ear.
