Officials are investigating a series of vandalism incidents along the St. Stephen waterfront.
The incidents were detailed in a post on the town’s Facebook page Wednesday.
It said staff arrived at Town Hall on Monday to find fencing around the proposed hotel area had been pulled over and decorations for the Walk of Lights had been pulled down, broken or stolen.
“After fixing it up and continuing to decorate for this Friday’s turning on of the Walk of Lights, we came in today to additional vandalism and theft,” said the post.
The fencing was pulled over again, strands of lights around two trees were stolen, and the section that will be used by Santa during the reverse parade on Dec. 4 was spray painted in several areas.
“As town staff continues to work towards preparing our waterfront for a beautiful display of lights, we would like to ask our citizens for their assistance in helping us keep it beautiful for everyone to enjoy,” said the post.
