It’s the start that stops most people. Not the work, not the effort, not even the fear… it’s simply getting started. Because in the beginning, you’re not great. You’re figuring things out, finding your rhythm, and yeah… sometimes you feel like you’re not very good at it. I know I felt that way more times than I can count.
But that’s part of the process. That early phase, the messy, uncomfortable, “am I even cut out for this?” stage, that’s where growth actually happens. If you truly want something in life, you have to be willing to go through that. You have to start before you feel ready, show up before you feel confident, and give yourself permission to not be great… yet.
That’s what a growth mindset really looks like. It’s constantly learning, constantly improving, and continuing to move forward even when it feels uncomfortable. It’s not win or lose… it’s win or learn.
And the people who get where they want to go?
They’re simply the ones who were willing to start.
What’s something you know you need to start but haven’t yet?
