Each year, we’re treated to a display of incredible fall colours in our region! And thanks to our unique landscape, we have some pretty incredible places to view them from, too! For the adventurous, Simpson Hill in Bayside boasts an elevation at the “tabletop” peak of 172 meters, where you’ll be treated to a cascade of colors tracing along the historic St. Croix River. The hiking trails are well marked and maintained. If you like your hikes with a hint of salty ocean breeze, why not head to the ferry terminal in Blacks Harbour and hike the Net Point Trail? This 800 meter trail offers views of Pettes Cove and Swallowtail Lighthouse and concludes on the rocky cliffs separating our provincial landmass from the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. If you’re looking for a more leisurely experience, consider packing a picnic lunch and loading the family in the car for an afternoon drive through one of our many ridges and valleys! Anticipating the unique views that wait for you over the crest of every hill is a fantastic family activity!

And of course, you can always head to any one of our near-countless rivers and lakes to be treated to unforgettable views reflecting along their shorelines. The combination of our unique climate and geography makes for some truly spectacular sights to take in, every fall! So why not lace up your boots, grab your camera, and spend a fall day exploring scenic Charlotte County!
