Temporary Closure Of St. Stephen Border Crossing

One of three border crossings into the St. Stephen area will be closed for part of the day on Monday.

The Ferry Point Bridge crossing will be out of service from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. for electrical upgrades, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

It is part of what CBSA describes as “essential upgrades” to the crossing’s three primary inspection lanes.

During the closure, you can use the St. Stephen 3rd Bridge crossing or the Milltown crossing.

Service is expected to resume by 4 p.m. Monday, but only one primary inspection lane will be open until February.

“To avoid delays, travellers are encouraged to consider alternate border crossings, especially during peak travel periods,” CBSA said in a statement.

The St. Stephen 3rd Bridge border crossing is open 24 hours a day while the Milltown border crossing is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
