We are excited to see the release of Government of New Brunswick’s new Anglophone Sector Education Plan 2026–2038: Strong Basics, Bright Futures. https://www.gnb.ca/…/25-02598-anglophone-education-plan…
We are proud to reflect on how closely the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saint John, Kings & Charlotte Counties aligns with its vision.
The plan focuses on three key priorities:
Strong Foundations for the Future
A Focus on Well-Being
Collaboration for Success
These priorities mirror what we see every day through mentoring.

Whether it’s an adult mentor helping a young person build confidence at school, a teen mentor encouraging literacy and communication skills through The Freckle Post, or a group program helping youth develop healthy relationships and resilience, mentoring strengthens the foundations that help children and youth succeed.
The Education Plan recognizes the importance of:
Positive adult relationships
School connectedness and belonging
Student engagement and attendance
Mental health and well-being
Family and community partnerships
Preparation for future education, careers, and citizenship
These are the same outcomes that drive our work every day.
As schools work toward ensuring every child has the opportunity to build curiosity, confidence, and opportunity, we are proud to stand alongside educators, families, community partners, and volunteers as part of the solution.
Relationships matter. In many ways, mentoring is the bridge that connects well-being, engagement, and learning.
We look forward to continuing to support students across Saint John, Kings, and Charlotte Counties as we work together to help every young person realize their full potential.
