Several Communities Set New Temperature Records

A decades-old temperature record was shattered in the Saint John region on Wednesday.

Environment Canada says a high of 31.6°C was recorded at the Saint John Airport.

That broke the old record of 28.3°C which was set back in 1948, according to the national weather agency.

Two other communities in southern New Brunswick also broke daily temperature records from 2007.

The high of 32.7°C in St. Stephen broke the previous record of 29.7°C.

Grand Manan reached a high of 30.8°C, breaking the old record of 28.6°C.

Another day of hot and humid weather is expected Thursday before temperatures turn cooler Thursday night.
