Service New Brunswick Closes Again

Service New Brunswick has once again closed all of its locations amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Crown corporation reopened nine of its locations this past week for essential services only.

“Service New Brunswick had taken precautions to limit the number of customers allowed into its centres at one time and promoted social distancing among customers and employees,” it said in a statement Saturday.

“However, after Service Canada’s announcement to close all of its centres nationally, it was determined that more changes were required to ensure the safety of customers and employees during the COVID-19 outbreak.”

Starting Wednesday, the nine locations will be able to process essential service transactions by appointment only.

Instructions for setting up an in-person appointment will be announced in the coming days.

The nine locations include Saint John, St. Stephen, Fredericton, Moncton, Campbellton, Bathurst, Miramichi, Woodstock and Edmundston.

Many of its services are also available online and through Tele-Services from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1-888-762-8600.
