Sea Dogs run win streak to five

Jamie Glance was the only player to score in the shootout and the Saint John Sea Dogs have won five in a row.

A Thanksgiving Monday matinee provided plenty of back-and-forth action as the Sea Dogs edged the Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-3.

The Volts opened the scoring in the first as Hugo Dufour got hold of rebound and fired it past Rafaël Courchesne.

Saint John tied it up with a power-play goal from Alex Donovan at 14:18 of the second, followed just 21 seconds later by Lawrence Williams’ first in the QMJHL to give the home side a 2-1 lead.

Drummondville needed just under a minute to tie things at 2-2 thanks to Maxim-Olivier Drolet.

Jabez Seymour restored Saint John’s lead with his first of the season midway through the third, but Dufour scored his second to things at 3-3 with about three and a half minutes to play.

Overtime solved nothing, but scored in the shootout and Courchesne stopped all three shots he faced to give the Sea Dogs another win.

Next up for Saint John, they host Cape Breton on Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.
