Saint John man dies in collision in northern New Brunswick

A Saint John man was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Saint-Basile.

According to the RCMP, the 26-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended by a transport truck Wednesday night on Highway 2.

Police said the accident appeared to have happened when the truck failed to stop and hit the vehicle.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other people in the vehicle were taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the collision.
