UPDATE: RCMP arrest escaped inmate

A man who escaped from the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre in Shediac in February has been located.

RCMP reported on March 23 that he was taken into custody in Moncton.

An emergency alert was issued on February 13, notifying New Brunswickers to be on the lookout.

The inmate reportedly fled from the centre in Shediac on February 12, but the RCMP were not notified until early the next day.

The public was advised not to approach, as the inmate may have been armed and dangerous.

The man was previously facing weapons-related charges.
