Province provides welcome kits to teachers, allied health professionals

Welcome kits have been handed out to new teachers and allied health professionals around the province.

The kits are part of retention efforts by the province and include practical tools the government said help create welcoming and supportive classrooms.

Anglophone West superintendent David McTimoney said he’s grateful for the initiative.

He added it creates a thoughtful welcome to professionals beginning their work in New Brunswick schools.

The kits include items tailored to each profession, like hand mirrors and bubble wands for speech language pathologists.

Francophone South superintendent Monique Boudreau said welcoming and supporting new staff is essential as they start their career.

She said the hope is the kits will help create an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
