The province has published its first progress report on its action plan for NB Power.
Of the 50 recommendations in the review of the utility, the government said seven are complete.
That includes regional energy co-operation between the Maritime provinces and the evaluation of the Belledune Generating Station conversion project.
Energy Minister René Legacy said he’s pleased to see the early progress.
“I encourage New Brunswickers to follow this meaningful work closely as we focus on positioning NB Power to meet New Brunswick’s long-term energy needs,” Legacy said.
The 50 recommendations from the review are listed on the government’s website under eight outcomes, but visitors can filter the information based on implementation or status.
The review was launched in 2025 after years of rising costs and growing concerns about affordability.
It focused on four areas: financial sustainability, governance and utility structure, customer expectations, and investor attractiveness and strategic partnerships.
The next update is expected in late December or early January.
