Police investigating fatal shooting in Saint John

A 42‑year‑old man has died after a firearm incident in Saint John.

Officers responded to several calls of shots fired at about 11:07 p.m. Tuesday in the area of St. James Street.

Saint John police said the man was found unconscious with serious injuries in the 182 block of the street.

He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

At this stage, investigators believe the incident was isolated, but no arrests have been made.

Police are asking residents in the area to check their security cameras for possible footage of the incident.
