Pedestrian killed in highway crash near Moncton

Mounties say a pedestrian has died after being struck by a pickup truck near Moncton.

The crash happened along the Trans-Canada Highway in Boundary Creek around 11 p.m. Friday.

Investigators believe the eastbound pickup truck struck the man, who was on the highway at the time.

The victim, an 82-year-old man from Boundary Creek, died at the scene from his injuries.

Police said the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle did not suffer any physical injuries.
