N.B. Premier expresses condolences after tragic crash leaves three dead

Families, friends and others continue to grieve after this week’s tragic crash on Highway 16 between Port Elgin and the Confederation Bridge.

New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt expressed her condolences on Wednesday.

Holt says she is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of two Island EMS paramedics and their patient.

She adds that paramedics dedicate their lives to caring for others and answering the call when we need them most.

Holt also thanked first responders who were at the scene.

The collision happened Monday morning. An Island EMS ambulance and a transport truck collided head-on, and two women and a man from PEI died in the crash.

The transport truck driver also suffered what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
