N.B. man charged with accessing child sex related material

Child sex abuse-related charges have been laid against a Burton, New Brunswick man.

RCMP say an investigation began in December 2025, when the New Brunswick Major Crime Unit notified the New Brunswick Internet Child Exploitation Unit about material found on a device related to a separate investigation in April 2024.

A 40-year-old man who was in custody in April this year on unrelated charges appeared in court on Monday to face additional charges, including accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material. He was also placed on strict conditions.

He’ll return to court on September 22, 2026.

The New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit includes members from the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force.
