N.B. gas prices drop under interrupter clause

Motorists are getting some unexpected breaks at the pumps this morning.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board invoked its interrupter clause early Wednesday morning, which forced fuel prices down.

The maximum for regular self-serve gas is down 4.2 cents a litre to around $1.80.

Diesel dipped 5.8 cents a litre to around $2.65.

Furnace oil is down 6.3 cents a litre.

The Board will make its usual weekly price adjustments on Friday at 12:01 am.
