Man charged after woman struck by vehicle: police

A man is facing charges in an alleged Saint John hit and run that happened just before Christmas.

Police say they were called to the parking lot of McAllister Place on the east side on the evening of Dec. 8.

According to investigators, a woman walking across the parking lot was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.

The 44-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say a 24-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday and charged with multiple Criminal Code driving offences.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
