Interrupter clause raises diesel and furnace oil prices in N.B.

Diesel and furnace oil prices increased in New Brunswick after the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board issued a new interrupter clause.

The board updated both fuels mid‑week, raising diesel by about 4 cents to $2.39 a litre.

Furnace oil also climbed roughly 4 cents, now posted at $2.32.

Regular self‑serve gasoline was not affected by the clause.

In Nova Scotia, regular self‑serve currently ranges from about $1.77 to $1.81 per litre, while diesel’s maximum is between roughly $2.29 and $2.34 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the maximum price for regular self‑serve is about $1.80 per litre, diesel is at $2.28 per litre, and home heating oil sells for a maximum of about $1.69 per litre.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board normally makes its weekly price adjustments every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
