Actress Hayden Panettiere has died at the age of 36, according to multiple reports.
Panettiere was known for a career that spanned more than three decades in television and film. The actress first gained recognition as a child performer before becoming a household name through roles in Heroes, Nashville, and the Scream franchise. She also voiced Dot in Disney Pixar’s classic 90’s film, A Bug’s Life.
Earlier this year, Panettiere released a memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, detailing her personal struggles, including battles with addiction, domestic abuse, and postpartum depression. She had spoken openly in recent interviews about her recovery journey and the challenges she faced both on and off screen.
A cause of death has not been released. Authorities say the circumstances surrounding her passing remain under investigation, and no additional details have been provided.
Panettiere is survived by her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya.
