Gusting Winds And Rain In Forecast For Province As Teddy Moves On

The worst is over for New Brunswick as Teddy moves onwards.

Post-tropical storm Teddy is continuing on its way north through Nova Scotia

Environment Canada meteorologist Mel Lemon said Teddy is south of Halifax and it will veer off to the east when it’s closer to the coastline heading towards Newfoundland.

“There might be some continued rain for southeastern New Brunswick, and the winds are going to stay strong on the north side of Teddy right now and just gradually diminish throughout the day,” he said.

The storm is slow-moving through Nova Scotia, and the rain will continue into the evening.

“The worst part is probably over, the winds are actually quite strong right now in southern New Brunswick probably gusting, near 80 km an hour in some spots, most spots probably around 70 km an hour so that’s gradually going to improve through the day,” he said.

Lemon said Cape Breton will have big waves and storm surges along the coastline which may result in some damage.

He said if you don’t have to be out in the impacted areas, stay inside.
