Grand Bay-Westfield announces switch to new notification service

Residents of Grand Bay-Westfield can now keep up with the town’s news with a new notification service.

The town announced the launch of Voyant Alert! last week.

Voyant is replacing Grand Bay-Westfield’s previous notification service, CodeRED.

The new service will be used by the town and its Emergency Management Organization (EMO) to communicate urgent public safety notifications, emergency advisories, and other important information that may affect residents.

In a press release, the town said Voyant will offer residents “a reliable way to receive alerts through their preferred communication method,” including mobile app notifications, email, text messages, and voice calls.

Residents who sign up can choose to either get local news, emergency alerts, traffic advisories, public notices, or event information delivered straight to their phone or inbox.

The town will begin sending notifications using Voyant on Aug. 24, but registration for the service is already available.

Residents can register by either downloading the Voyant Alert! app from the Apple or Google Play app stores, or register online at https://register.voyent-alert.com for email, text, and voice call alerts.

The town is encouraging all residents to sign up for the service, including those who previously subscribed to the town’s former notification system, since existing subscriptions will not automatically transfer to Voyant, and registration is required to continue receiving alerts and updates.

The town also said residents who subscribed to CodeRED will receive a notification from the service about the transition.
