The Birds Who Fear Death
(2024, Canada, suspense drama, 110 min., rated PG)
Written and directed by Sanjay Patel, this acclaimed Canadian Indigenous film features Graham Greene in one of his last roles. Adam Beach and Simon Baker star as brothers in need of money who discover they’ve been left out of their father’s will. To contest the will, they must journey to a northern Indigenous community, where they learn truths about their heritage and the struggles such communities face. This deeply moving and occasionally funny film is a timely must-see.
