Clean Energy To Be Discussed At Council Of Atlantic Premiers

The Council of Atlantic Premiers is being held in St. John’s, Nfld., on Monday, but Premier Blaine Higgs is taking part from New Brunswick.

In a post on Facebook this morning, he stated he was disappointed he could not join his colleagues in person.

“I was scheduled to fly out from Saint John, and after my flight was cancelled I braved the storm and drove to Fredericton with hopes I could fly out from there. Unfortunately that flight was cancelled as well. Thankfully I am able to take part via video conference. Looking forward to important discussions on softwood lumber tariffs, energy, and healthcare, to name a few.”

Higgs, P.E.I. Premier Dennis King, Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Dwight Ball, and Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil are participating in the event.

Québec Premier François Legault will also meet with the Atlantic premiers and join the discussion as they talk about clean energy collaboration in Eastern Canada.
