Charlotte County’s population continues to grow

More and more people continue to call Charlotte County home.

Statistics Canada released its latest population estimates this week.

As of July 1, 2023, the population of Charlotte County stood at 27,518.

That was an increase of 600 people, or just over two per cent, compared to a year earlier.

St. Stephen grew by nearly 150 residents to 4,894, according to the population estimates.

Saint Andrews now has a population of 2,158, just over 1,700 people call St. George home, and the population of Grand Manan now stands at nearly 2,700.

Meanwhile, the province’s total population grew from 809,568 to 834,691, an increase of around three per cent.
