Chance of heavy rain, thunder, lightning and hail in N.B.

Umbrellas and hip waders may be required later today

Environment Canada has issued yellow-level severe thunderstorm watches for the central and southern regions of New Brunswick.

They’re warning of the potential for dangerous thunderstorms, with high winds, large hail and heavy rain.

The advisory also states there is a risk of a tornado.

Weather conditions could occur this afternoon and evening.

According to the Weather Network, a heat dome to the south is generating a “ring of fire” pattern, which is creating enhanced conditions for severe thunderstorms across eastern Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick.
