CAO for Grand Bay-Westfield resigns

The hunt has begun for a new Chief Administrative Officer for the town of Grand Bay-Westfield.

John Enns-Wind has resigned, effective July 6.

“Serving the community of Grand Bay-Westfield has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I am proud of the progress we have made together in strengthening the organization and advancing key priorities for the Town. I leave with a deep sense of gratitude for Council, Staff, and the community – and with confidence that the strong foundation in place will support continued growth and success in the years ahead,” Enns-Wind stated.

Enns-Wind joined the team in August 2020.

The Town says that under Enns-Wind’s leadership, they made meaningful progress in several areas, including advancing long-term planning initiatives, strengthening financial and organizational frameworks, investing in infrastructure, supporting economic development, responding to local governance reform, and fostering strong community partnerships.

A news release added that his contributions have helped to establish a solid foundation for the Town’s continued growth and long-term success.

“On behalf of Council and the community, I want to thank John for his leadership and service to Grand Bay-Westfield over the past several years. John has approached this role with professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to public service. We are grateful for the contributions he has made to our organization and community, and we wish him all the very best in his next chapter,” Mayor Brittany Merrifield stated.

The town has brought in Canadian recruitment firm KBRS to assist with the process to fill the role.
