Cannabis, Tobacco Seized At Dorchester Penitentiary

A package containing contraband and unauthorized items has been seized at Dorchester Penitentiary.

Prison staff in the minimum-security unit recently uncovered 1.6 grams of shatter—a cannabis concentrate—and 22 bales of tobacco.

The estimated value of the contraband is about $7,000.

Smoking has been banned in all federal correctional institutions since 2008.
